Hubby finally made it across the pond in his first European trip. I have already been to Italy (that was over 10 years ago before the euro) so I was thrilled that he was finally getting the opportunity to go to Europe. He traveled to Paris to cover The Tourist, the new thriller starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp. I am so proud of him. He made BlackTree happen and is living his dream.
Nice to see a renowned economist reference Biblical law. The monetary system of which he speaks is in Leviticus 25. We are experiencing the consequences of not following the Scriptures even in the financial markets. Many will be surprised to know that.

If they ever actually make this… I’m gonna have to get it!
The Chanel car concept was designed by automobile designer Jinyoung Jo from South Korea back in 2009. He named it Chanel Fiole, which means “bottle” in french. It’s been over a year… what’s the deal?!
AGREED.
I think it is imperative to learn how to be alone. If you can’t enjoy you, then there is no way anyone else can. Know that God has you alone so that He can work on you so that you can be useful when you are finally with another. It is when we are alone that He can talk to us, teach us, minister to us and reveal Himself to us. So learn to love to be alone. It is the best investment of time you will ever make.

What do I see? I see a place where I have a second home and business office. Technology and the arts are flourishing as a new Renaissance era is ushered in. Capital markets are open allowing the proliferation of startups and big businesses alike. Because of its unique mix of resources and population in Africa, both the manufacturing and knowledge economies spring up and proposer concurrently. That is the Africa I see in 50 years.

On September 15, 1985, Nike introduced the Air Jordans. They turned out to be, to say the least, quite popular.
Sneaker culture exploded out of the post-war era, when American consumers were confronted with extraordinary new hours of leisure time and realized they needed to wear special shoes to take part in the activities this new free time afforded. The key shoe in these early years was the Adidas Superstar, the first to spread from the feet of NBA stars to those of kids on the street.
But the arrival of the Michael Jordan-endorsed Nike Air Jordans in 1985 changed everything. Featuring a bold-for-the-time red and black color scheme, the shoes were banned by the NBA for being too outrageous (only white shoes were considered acceptable.) Jordan, the best basketball player in the world, was fined $5,000 by the NBA every time he stepped onto the court in them — a fine Nike happily paid.
The ban turned sneakers from just something people wore on their feet to something illicit, something dangerous — a status symbol. From there, stores would sell out of limited-edition shoes instantly, rappers would make tracks dedicated to their kicks, pundits would spin stories of children being shot for their sneakers, and designers would make shoes into haute couture. But it all started with these Air Jordans.
There will never be another. Not Kobe. Not LeBron. Not anyone.

Great infographic being illustrated during this talk. I do think the question remains how do we build a system that could be really responsible, just, and humane. Well, the Yunus Center and @BCorporation have some great ideas on that. Don’t loose hope! I am exploring how I can contribute to building such a system.
