“Michael loved art a lot. He — he loved paintings, he loved water colors. He loved even the crayons. And he would always draw. And when he was even in school, he would draw pictures and they took one of his drawings and put it on the front of the yearbook. He taught himself. … Just the talent that he had. And I can’t say too much more about him, only his father — his father was an artist, too. He loved to paint and draw. So I thought maybe he might have picked it up from him. But he had a natural talent for it, Michael did.” Katherine Jackson

Wow

Remembering MJ today…

Oh my.. :) this is cute ^^ loooll

My first Whitney post since her passing. I’ve missed her voice for a long time. But she is special because she was my first pop icon, Queen was brown brown. Brown like me. And she sweat like my Aunties when they party on down. Yes. Being brown girl in a private elementary school in America in the late 1980s was made cool by Whitney Houston. Her music was so apart of the music video rotation, on all the radio stations. A definite soundtrack to my childhood that puts a smile on my face every time lol. RIP Whitney Houston.

“This is me experimenting with socks for Thriller. Glow socks, light socks, rhinestone socks — I tried everything. I didn’t want to copy people. I wanted to be an innovator. A pioneer.” - Michael Jackson

Will You Be There (Single Version) - Michael Jackson

Will You Be There (Single Version)

Michael Jackson

I have fallen in love with this song thanks to Jennifer Hudson’s beautiful rendition at Michael Jackson’s funeral that is being run on BlackTree TV. One year ago, we lost a legend. Still so sad and unreal. He may be gone but we are forever blessed by his incredible music.

Great work! This is so beautifully done. I’m really proud of how BlackTree is building its brand and team. Through great, high quality content BlackTree is building a great brand ORGANICALLY. And that is the BEST way to do it. You can’t buy that kind of brand awareness.

Music affects us more profoundly and extensively than language, because it is experienced bodily and emotionally and immediately — it does not need ‘translation’ by the brain to give it meaning

Amazing photos of Michael Jackson that were displayed throughout his memorial service. Absolutely stunning photography that beautifully and perfectly adorned a very touching service.

RIP MJ! Still can’t believe you are gone. I didn’t realize how much of my childhood was defined by your music, your family, and your accomplishments. I’m sorry that I prescribed to the BS spewed by the media and regret believing anything that came from someone other than you directly. I love you. Thanks for the music and the legacy. You live forever through it. Dance with the angels now.

Change the world. Starting with you. Brilliance.

We Had Him

preludetoakiss:

Beloveds, now we know that we know nothing, now that our bright and shining star can slip away from our fingertips like a puff of summer wind.

Without notice, our dear love can escape our doting embrace. Sing our songs among the stars and walk our dances across the face of the moon.

In the instant that Michael is gone, we know nothing. No clocks can tell time. No oceans can rush our tides with the abrupt absence of our treasure.

Though we are many, each of us is achingly alone, piercingly alone.

Only when we confess our confusion can we remember that he was a gift to us and we did have him.

He came to us from the creator, trailing creativity in abundance.

Despite the anguish, his life was sheathed in mother love, family love, and survived and did more than that.

He thrived with passion and compassion, humor and style. We had him whether we know who he was or did not know, he was ours and we were his.

We had him, beautiful, delighting our eyes.

His hat, aslant over his brow, and took a pose on his toes for all of us.

And we laughed and stomped our feet for him.

We were enchanted with his passion because he held nothing. He gave us all he had been given.

Today in Tokyo, beneath the Eiffel Tower, in Ghana’s Black Star Square.

In Johannesburg and Pittsburgh, in Birmingham, Alabama, and Birmingham, England

We are missing Michael.

But we do know we had him, and we are the world.

-Maya Angelou

Michael Jackson’s death took down major websites every where as folks tweeted, facebooked, posted, texted, called, and surfed information regarding Michael Jackson. My streams where all clogged with Michael Jackson that day (June 25, 2009). And I was OK with that. RIP MJ!

The Legendary King Of Pop, Rock, & Soul

Probably the best Michael Jackson tribute web page I’ve come across. Watch his interview with Oprah (part 3) where Michael Jackson explains his skin color and proclaims his black pride.

RIP MJ

I am so proud of the media network that BlackTree Media is becoming. Here is BlackTree TV live on the scene yesterday at UCLA Medical. Jamaal Finkley, CEO, puts it best here:

“I guess as soon as I heard the news, I knew it was news, and I think for the very first time our news division really felt like journalists. Michael Jackson is a man that has touched millions, and BlackTree TV felt obligated to be there to report from the ground what the people were feeling right at that moment. Nobody was expecting Michael Jackson to leave us so soon, everybody was anticipating his comeback tour and here we all find ourselves, people of all creeds, religions, nationalities, those of us who have always loved him and those of us who have taken a dislike to some of his decisions, we all felt MJ. No entertainer has come close to the reach and impact of MJ on his fans. So here we are BlackTree TV News, reporting live from UCLA Medical Center moments after MJ arrived and was later pronounced dead. Erica O’Young was on the beat, Yev Schrayber on the cameras, and Anthony Idem, Jr as producer…”
