If you decide that you need to complete a particular project by the end of a block, for example, you’re likely to either be frustrated by your lack of progress or rush out something mediocre. Instead, focus on process. Decide how, exactly, you are going to approach the work. This focuses your energy. High-quality results will follow naturally from this focused work.

Great article. I already set aside creative blocks in my schedule. But they are so unproductive. And now I know why. I was goal-oriented. My goal has been to finish an article or page by the end of the allotted time. SMH. I’ve been doing it all wrong. Instead of concentrating on the end product I need to focus on my writing process.

How can I approach my writing?

EXCELLENT! THAT IS WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!! Let’s create for the medium at hand allowing the truly creative and innovative to come to life because the technology is there and the market is craving the different. Creative interactive media will win every time. I think it truly has to be both in order to be truly successful.
